नयी दिल्ली निर्यात के समय कस्टम द्वारा जाँच के लिए कालीन को कटे जाने की शिकायते को गंभीरता से लेते हुए केन्द्रीय कपडा मंत्री ने वित् मंत्रालय के अधिकारियो को निर्देशित किया है शुक्रवार कोकेन्द्रीय वस्त्र मंत्री श्रीमति स्मृति ज़ुबीन ईरानी ने अपने कार्यालय में निर्यात होने वाले किसी भी कालीन को काटने के संबंध में निर्यातकों से
शिकायत मिलने पर वित्त मंत्रालय के श्री नजीब शाह चेयरमैन सैंट्रल बोर्ड आॅफ इक्साईज एंड कस्टम तथा श्री दिनेश गुप्ता निर्देषक (ड्राबैक) के साथ एक बैठक बुलवाई जिसमंे वस्त्र सचिव श्रीमति रष्मि वर्मा अतिरिक्त सचिव श्रीमति पुश्पा सुर्बमणियम विकास आयुक्त श्री अलोक कुमार तथा श्री सुषील गायकवाड अतिरिक्त विकास आयुक्त के साथ कालीन निर्यात संवर्धन परिशद् की तरफ से भावी वाइस चेयरमैन श्री ऊमर हामिद कार्यकारी निर्देषक श्री शिव कुमार गुप्ता एवं श्री निर्मल कुमार गुईन भी उपस्थित थे।
वस्त्र मंत्री ने वित्त विभाग के अधिकारीयों को निर्यातकों के कस्टम अधिकारी कारपेट काटे जाने की कार्यवाही से निर्यात में होने वाली विभिन्न समस्याओं से अवगत कराया। विचार विमर्ष में यह फैसला लिया गया कि भविष्य में निर्यात होने वाले किसी भी कालीन को उनके कम्पाजिषन मूल्यांकन आदि के लिये नहीं काटा जायेगा तथा टैक्सटाईल काॅमेटी मुबंई या इंडियन इंस्टीट्यूट आॅफ कारपेट टेक्नोलाॅजी (आई.आई.सी.टी.) भदोही का सहयोग लेकर मूल्यांकन या काॅमपोजिषन का आंकलन निर्यात के लिये किया जायेगा।

February, 2017, the Hon’ble Textile Minister Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani held a
meeting with Mr. Najeeb Shah, Chairman, Central Board of Excise & Customs
& Shri Dinesh Gupta, Director (Drawback) and Ministry of Finance in her chamber
regarding the issue raised by the Carpet
Exporters for damaging carpets by the Port Authorities for price determination,
composition etc. meant for exports. In
the above meeting Smt. Rashmi Verma, Textiles Secretary, Smt. Pushpa
Subrahmanyam, Addl. Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Shri Alok Kumar,
Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and Shri Sushil Gaikwad, Addl.

The Hon’ble Textiles
Minister Smt.Zubin Irani apprised the officials of Finance Ministry that due to
cutting of carpets, the carpets are damaged and the exporters cannot realize
the value of their carpets which discourage them for exports. They face other
relevant problems also in exports. Mr. Najeeb Shah understood the problem and
assured the Hon’ble Textile Minister that a mechanism in consultation with the
Textiles Ministry can be worked out for price verification and composition etc.
so that cutting of the carpets meant for exports shall be avoided. After
discussing the matter with the above officials the Hon’ble Textile Minister
stated that for price determination and composition etc. there shall be no
cutting of the carpets meant for exports and the port authorities can seek
assistance of the O/o. the Textiles Committee, Mumbai and the Indian Institute
of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi
